The Legends of the Fall

Chris Ward ~ Kansas Muzzleloader Whitetail

Chris and Eric were super excited to hunt Kansas this year with their new Traditions Pursuit Muzzleloaders. The first few days the boys passed several nice bucks but had theirs sites set on one of three mature bucks. On the evening of December 3rd the boys watched the weather as they had heavy rain all day, but the radar was showing that the rain was going to stop two hours before dark. The choice for the night was going to be picked beans and wheat. They climbed into a very reliable old stand, The Buzzard House. Shortly after 4:00 p.m. several deer entered the field, one of which was a big wide 8 they named "Boeing".  The buck took over an hour to work his way across the field, but he eventually worked his way to within 73 yards and prented Chris a perfect Broadside shot. Chris made short work of him with the ole 50 cal. Pursuit Muzzleloader and the deer only made it to the edge of the field. What a way to start off their Kansas hunt with a buck on the Hit List.
